Privacy Policy for Diceify

1. Introduction

Thank you for using Diceify (the “App”), a mobile application developed by Zubaid Rasool.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your information when you use Diceify. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the App’s core functionality—turning your photos into dice mosaic artwork.

a) Information You Provide

  • Photos/Images: When you use the App, you may take a new photo with your camera or select an existing image from your device’s photo gallery. These images are used exclusively to generate dice mosaic artwork.

b) Automatically Collected Information

  • App Preferences: Settings such as dice size, color mode, processing options, etc., are stored locally on your device.
  • Technical Data: Standard analytics about app crashes and performance (anonymized, no personal identifiers) may be collected via platform tools (Apple App Store / Google Play console).

We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or any other personal identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Information

Image Processing

  • Selected or captured images are temporarily sent to our secure cloud processing service (AWS Lambda) for real-time conversion into dice mosaic artwork.
  • Images are processed immediately and are not stored on our servers after processing completes.
  • The resulting mosaic artwork is sent back to your device, and the original and processed images are permanently deleted from our servers within seconds.

Local Usage

  • Your preferences are stored only on your device.
  • Processed mosaic images are saved to your device’s photo gallery only if you explicitly choose to save them.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not:

  • Sell, rent, or trade your images or personal information to third parties.
  • Share your images with any third party for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
  • Use your images for training AI models or any purpose other than generating your requested dice mosaic.

The only third-party involvement is AWS (Amazon Web Services) for temporary image processing, governed by strict data-processing agreements and industry-leading security standards.

5. Third-Party Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • We use AWS Lambda and related services solely for image processing.
  • Data transmission occurs over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • AWS acts as our processor and follows its own privacy and security policies. See: https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/

No other third-party SDKs or analytics services that collect personal data are used.

6. Permissions Required

The App requests the following permissions only when needed:

You can deny any permission; the corresponding feature will simply be unavailable.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • All network transmission uses TLS/HTTPS encryption.
  • Cloud functions are stateless and isolated; no images are retained after processing.
  • No user images are logged or backed up on our servers.
  • Local data on your device is stored using secure, platform-provided mechanisms.

8. Children’s Privacy

Diceify is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions such as the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

9. Data Retention

  • Server-side: Images are deleted immediately after processing (typically within seconds). We retain zero copies.
  • Device-side: Preferences and any saved mosaics remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights at any time:

  • Access your locally stored preferences within the App settings.
  • Delete all App data by uninstalling the App or clearing app data/storage in your device settings.
  • Revoke permissions in your device settings (this will disable the related features).
  • Stop using the App at any time—no account or login is required.

11. International Data Transfers

Your images may be temporarily processed on servers located in the United States (AWS regions). By using the App, you consent to this transfer for the sole purpose of real-time image processing.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in the App and on our website with an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be notified via an in-app notice or update description in the App Store/Google Play. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
